The service life, differential pressure, regenerability, and of course the filter performance are the parameters of interest to our customers. We optimize our filter elements according to our customers' instructions:
- Maximizing service life:
It is expensive to change filters in chemical processing. Beyond the time of the removal and cleaning of the elements and the cost of replacement filter elements, production downtime is expensive. A long filter life therefore means lower costs.
The service life of a filter element can be significantly increased by maximizing the filter surface and optimizing the inflow. - Minimum differential pressure and negligible dead zones:
Filters and especially filter elements cause a pressure drop in chemical processing. This loss of energy is not only costly, it reduces the quantity and speed of the flow, and increases the dwell time of the product in the filter. This affects product quality. Deposits collect in low-flow areas of the filter (dead zones) that, if released, can block the filter, filter element, nozzles, pumps, etc. or render the product useless.
Seebach filter elements minimize these problems. Smooth and electrolytically deburred surfaces, maximum cross-sections in the flow area without dead zones, and filter media with high porosity minimize the pressure drop. - Regenerability filter elements:
The quality of a filter element is greatly influenced by the number of times a filter element can be chemically or mechanically cleaned without affecting the filter performance. This is chiefly promoted by the processing quality of the filter element.
Seebach process filter elements are made completely of stainless steel, and all joints are fully welded. The structure of the filter material, the geometry of the folds in pleated filter elements and the use of an external protective tube allows the filter elements to withstand high mechanical stress and be efficiently cleaned. - Filter performance:
In many sectors of the chemical processing industry, a reliable filtration system must be employed with a precise degree of filtration, i.e., no particles above a permissible size may pass through.
Filter elements achieve this precise separation rate by using high quality metal fiber fleece as an absolute filter medium which is carefully processed when manufacturing the elements. This yields reliable filter performance that is confirmed by a test report and quality certificate from Seebach GmbH (have a look: quality assurance).
