Particle filters are used to clean water from the public drinking water network at the inflow into buildings and for the fine filtration of drinking water near to the point of use. They remove suspended sand grains and particles, such as rust, flax fibres, or debris from broken seals, from the pipe system. They also reduce the loading on   local waste water treatment plants through the pre-separation of suspended solids.
